Philosophy of Care
I am dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive vascular care, with approach rooted in the most advanced and least invasive treatment options. I believe that understanding the patient experience from the patient's perspective is critical in delivering high quality care. I put a high value on open communication with my patient and their family members to achieve optimum treatment outcomes.
Dr. Yoon has a special interest in the endovascular treatment of aortic diseases, including thoracic aortic aneurysms, acute and chronic type B aortic dissection, and abdominal aortic aneurysms. In addition to traditional vascular surgery fellowship training, he received advanced specialized endovascular training for aortic disease and have extensive experience in fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. As such, his practice includes the treatment of complex aneurysm cases that employs personalized fenestrated endografts.
As an aortic surgeon trained in the most current and cutting-edge procedures, his focus is on integrating new technology and innovation into his clinical practice. He is also actively involved in clinical trials of new therapies and devices, so his patients may have access to innovative leading-edge treatments not available at other medical centers.
Dr. Yoon's research focuses on advancing endovascular management of thoracic and abdominal aortic disease. As reflected in his PhD thesis at the Department of Vascular Surgery, Uppsala University, Sweden, his research goal is to obtain further understanding on the aorta, especially on the aortic arch and supra-aortic branches, as well as on the current anatomic barriers to endovascular repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic disease. Ultimately, he aims to develop a thoracic endovascular aortic surgery planning software that would simplify preoperative thoracic endovascular aortic surgery planning process, with potential for shorter and more precise procedures and better long-term results, which represent a crucial frontier in advancing the treatment of thoracic aortic pathologies.
