Non-Vascular Abdominal Interventional: 4 months
Electives: 3 months
Vacation & Education time: 1 month
Fellows also get exposed to higher end Abdominal CT exams including CT Colonography, Enterography, Urography, and CT Angiograms during their core rotations.
The time allotted for electives is intended to allow some flexibility for the fellow to pursue further training in specific areas of interest. Electives may include (either alone or in combination):
- Musculoskeletal MRI
- High-Risk Obstetrical Ultrasound
- Breast Imaging
- Cardiothoracic Imaging
The goal of the fellowship is to provide high quality clinical education and prepare fellows for a high-end community or mid-level academic practice. All fellows graduating from the program in recent years have been recruited into top level highly compensated positions in California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Southwest region. This is only one of very few fellowships in the country that offers comprehensive training in abdominal interventional procedures, including biopsy, fluid aspiration, catheter drainages, and ablations, working alongside extremely skilled faculty.
8 weekends in Abdominal Imaging
Fellows also have the opportunity for picking up additional general radiology shifts in the evenings and over the weekends which are compensated competitively at market rates.

Sacramento is a vibrant, culturally diverse city, with year-round temperate weather and easy access to San Francisco, the beautiful California coast, several wine regions including Napa and Sonoma, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite Valley, and the Sierra mountain ranges.
