UC Davis Health was recognized today with a 4.5-star rating for providing high-quality care to Medicare Advantage patients, according to the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA), a nonprofit group promoting integrated care that improves quality and affordability for patients across California and the nation.
Building on the Medicare Advantage star rating system for health plans reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, IHA uses 12 clinical quality measures to rate the physician organizations in California. These measures range from rates of breast and colorectal cancer screenings to eye exams and blood sugar control for patients with diabetes to managing osteoporosis in women with a previous fracture.
The 2018 IHA ratings included 178 physician organizations across the state, based on how well they provided care in 2017 to California seniors and people with disabilities enrolled in Medicare Advantage health plans.
The 4.5-star designation recognizes a high level of Medicare Advantage quality achievement and is a testament to UC Davis Health’s commitment to its patients.
